Position Overview:
The Director Scientific Relations, Medical Affairs is a high-visibility role within PharmaEssentia. This person will establish and maintain relationships with key external customers (healthcare providers/organizations, payers, patient organizations, and caregivers) in order to identify unmet needs and data generation opportunities, gain consensus and develop strategies for our product portfolio. This person will collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to allow informed decision making/alignment across the organization and to avoid duplication of efforts. This role will be office-based in Burlington, MA.

Key Responsibilities to Include:
- Support the Senior Director of Medical Affairs in the development and execution of the Medical Affairs Plan
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key external customers (healthcare providers/organizations, payers, patient organizations, and caregivers) in order to identify unmet needs and data generation opportunities, gain consensus and develop strategies for our product portfolio.
- Perform mapping to ensure we identify current and emerging expertise to provide input to the organization
- Maintain a database of external stakeholder expertise that can be leveraged for input across multiple formats (eg, 1:1 consults, advisory board meetings, publications, steering committees etc)
- Work cross-functionally to identify key congresses for PharmaEssentia to have a presence
- Ensure consistent medical and scientific messages, information, and data are used in communicating with external customers.
- Provide therapeutic area expertise and medical input into the formulation of the overall development and global commercialization strategy.
- Ensure that the content of medical congress presentations is accurate, strategically focused, and compliant
- Represent the company at medical meetings, advisory boards, outreach meetings at key institutions, and in interactions with KOLs
- Identify scientific evidence generation opportunities (RWE, HEOR, Phase IV and IIT) and scientific information exchange with key external stakeholders
- Work in close collaboration with MSLs, medical information, regulatory affairs, clinical development, commercial, and regulatory to provide a coordinated approach to stakeholder engagement and to provide support with medical and scientific expertise for life cycle management
The Person
Education: Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD/DO) or equivalent
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry, Academia, or Private Practice
- Experience in Medical Affairs
- MSL or MSL-like experience interacting with and providing medical information to external stakeholders (healthcare providers/organizations, payers, patient organizations, and caregivers)
- Ability to articulate complex scientific and medical information in concise, understandable business terms
- Knowledgeable in regulatory guidelines and clinical terminology
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong writing, communication, and project management skills
- Thorough understanding of clinical methodologies and providing sound analytical support, to quickly establish credibility as a reliable resource
- Experience developing stakeholder engagement and education tools
- Clinical trial support experience
- Travel required - up to 25%
- Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in hematology/oncology and rare diseases
