Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial, the Head of Sales will be responsible for developing and leading PharmaEssentia’s US sales organization and all related activities. This role will be responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy for PharmaEssentia across the US and will also oversee the recruitment and management of field sales teams, sales operations, and training to build a best-in-class hematology/oncology sales organization. The Head of Sales will collaborate closely with the Commercial Leadership Team (Marketing, Sales & Training), Commercial Operations, Market Access, Medical Affairs and all relevant support functions to develop and execute sales strategies that drive the successful commercialization of BESREMi and future pipeline products. We are seeking a leader with a proven track record in accelerating performance, building high-performing sales teams and executing successful launches.

Key Responsibilities:
  •  Sales Strategy, Organizational Design & Leadership:
    • Develop and implement a national sales strategy for BESREMi to achieve or exceed revenue targets in full alignment with executive & commercial leadership.
    • Evaluate, design, and lead the US sales organization for BESREMi, including hiring top talent for regional sales management and field sales representative roles.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Collaborate with the brand, commercial operations and market access teams to develop national sales strategies, ensuring alignment with market access and patient support services to drive commercialization.
  • Sales Support Infrastructure: Lead the refinement and development of sales processes and infrastructure, including customer targeting, territory alignment, sales size, structure, and incentive compensation programs.
  • Sales Force Systems & Training: Provide input on the design and implementation of sales force systems, training programs, and performance metrics to ensure sales teams are equipped to meet objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, including Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance, to ensure all sales activities and tactics are executed in full compliance with industry regulations and guidelines.
  •  Sales Performance Management: Drive commercial team performance to ensure the timely delivery of treatment to appropriate patients and meet/ exceed revenue objectives. Continuously assess sales metrics and adjust strategies to optimize results.
  • Coordination with Medical Affairs & Market Access: Ensure strategic alignment with Medical Affairs and Market Access team to achieve appropriate and seamless coordination in the field, with a focus on patient support and enhancing access to treatment – delivering excellence within the PEC Integrated Operating Model.
  •  Leadership & Team Engagement: Serve as a key member of the US Commercial Leadership Team, contributing to the strategic direction of PEC and collaborating with other functional leaders to achieve company-wide goals.
  • Market Analytics & Reporting: Collaborate with the Brand Team, Market Analytics, and Sales Operations to design reporting and business analytics that track market developments and performance and inform sales strategies through routine reporting and quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
  • Launch Planning & Execution: Work closely with the brand team to set future launch targets, define key performance indicators (KPIs), and proactively manage incentives and metrics to ensure the successful launch of additional indications and overall growth of BESREMi.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years in biopharma sales leadership, with at least 5 years of experience in Hematology/oncology/rare disease sales, preferably in the hematology/oncology space.
  • Market Understanding: Strong understanding of the US hematology/ oncology marketplace including fluency in the micro & macro dynamics impacting HCPs and practices.
  • Track Record: Proven success in building and leading high-performing sales teams, consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
  • Hematology/Oncology Experience: Strong background in oncology, with a demonstrated ability to drive product launches and grow market share in this therapeutic area. Blood disorder experience is preferred.
  • Compliance & Accountability: Deep commitment to fostering a culture of compliance and accountability across all sales functions.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate effectively and compliantly across teams, including Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and others, to ensure integrated sales strategies and smooth execution.
  • Recruitment & Talent Development: Exceptional skills in recruiting, developing, and retaining top-tier sales talent preferably from a strong existing candidate network pool.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to work with key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and support for the sales organization’s goals and strategies.
  • Patient Centricity: Strong focus on patient needs, demonstrating empathy and commitment to ensuring access to life-changing therapies.
