Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure the integrity of financial reporting. This role will report to the Director of Accounting. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting expertise, solid knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, a deep understanding of internal controls, and the ability to lead process improvements in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
The expected salary range for this position based on greater Boston, MA location is $85,000-$95,000. Actual salary pay will be based on multiple factors, including geographic location, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency
- Review journal entries and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and proper documentation
- Perform financial variance analysis and provide insightful
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS
- Support preparation of management and board reporting materials
- Internal Control & Compliance
- Support the Director of Accounting in overseeing all internal control cycles to ensure strong control environment across the organization and facilitate internal control audits
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and accounting standards
- Proactively track changes in accounting standards and business developments; evaluate potential technical accounting implications to provide research, analysis, and formal documentation as needed
- Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities in processes and procedures for improvements to increase efficiency and productivity
- Maintain and update accounting policies, procedures, and SOP documentation to ensure alignment with current guidance and business operations; establish and document role cross-training and backup coverage to support business continuity. Team Leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; active CPA license required.
- 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in public accounting (Big 4 preferred), with experience in Accounts Receivable and general ledger oversight.
- Understanding of gross-to-net accounting, including rebates, discounts, chargebacks, accruals, and reserve adjustments impacting revenue recognition.
- Proven experience managing period-end close processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge in technical accounting and IFRS/US GAAP. Experience in researching and writing technical accounting memos.
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4 or similar ERP systems (preferred).
- Experience supporting third-party logistics (3PL) operations or complex billing environments.
- Deep understanding of IFRS/GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to design, strengthen, and monitor internal controls. Experience working in SOX 404(b) environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical capabilities.
- Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring staff and collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and FP&A.
- Ability to step in and assist the team during peak periods (e.g., month-end close, audits, system implementations), ensuring deadlines are met without compromising accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying process improvements.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial insights to management.
- Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset, capable of driving operational efficiency and strengthening accounting processes.
