Job Overview:
PharmaEssentia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in the biotech industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing various financial functions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the strategic financial goals of the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of biotech industry dynamics and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and analyze accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP/IFRS).
    • Generate insightful financial reports for internal management and external stakeholders.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor budgets.
    • Provide financial forecasts and variance analysis to support decision-making.
  3. Audit and Compliance:
    • Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and accounting standards.
    • Implement and maintain robust internal controls.
  4. Financial Analysis:
    • Conduct in-depth financial analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
    • Provide strategic insights and recommendations based on financial data.
  5. Taxation:
    • Work closely with tax professionals to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
    • Optimize tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities.
  6. Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with other departments, including research and development, operations, and sales, to understand their financial needs and provide necessary support.
  7. Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the finance department.
    • Implement best practices to enhance overall financial operations.
  8. ERP Systems:
    • Utilize and manage Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for financial transactions, reporting, and data analysis.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred.
  • 4 to 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong technical skills in accounting software and ERP systems, especially SAP.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry-specific regulatory requirements and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing and guiding a team of accounting professionals.
  • Ability to adapt to the dynamic nature of the biotech industry.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
