Position Summary
The Senior Manager, HCP Engagement will own the end-to-end execution and optimization of HCP engagement programs, including the speaker bureau and national conferences. This role is designed for a high-accountability operator who can step in immediately, bring structure to complexity, and drive execution in a fast-paced, launch-driven environment.
This individual will serve as the operational backbone across speaker programs and conferences—ensuring flawless execution, continuous optimization, and tight integration with brand strategy, sales priorities, and compliance requirements. Success in this role requires proactive ownership, strong judgment, and the ability to lead cross-functional stakeholders without heavy oversight.
Reporting to Associate Director HCP Engagement and Conference Strategy, this role will partner closely with Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Medical, and Legal/Compliance to elevate HCP engagement as a core commercial growth driver.
Key Responsibilities
Speaker Bureau Ownership & Optimization
- Own day-to-day operations of the speaker bureau, including program planning, scheduling, execution, and performance tracking
- Ensure compliant, high-quality execution aligned to brand strategy and field needs
- Proactively identify and resolve operational gaps; implement process improvements to increase speed, scale, and consistency
- Analyze program performance (attendance, engagement) and translate insights into actionable optimizations
- Build trusted relationships with key HCPs and field leadership (e.g., Hematology Account Managers) to ensure programs meet real-world needs
Conference & Event Execution Leadership
- Lead operational execution of national and regional conferences, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives and brand presence
- Drive end-to-end logistics: timelines, materials, vendor management, on-site execution, and post-event follow-up
- Partner cross-functionally to deliver a cohesive and differentiated conference experience (Marketing, Sales, Medical, Market Access)
- Own conference tools and platforms (e.g., apps, lead capture, engagement tracking) including training and adoption
Cross-Functional Integration & Program Excellence
- Act as the central connector across Marketing, Sales, Legal/Compliance, and external vendors to ensure seamless execution
- Translate strategic direction into clear, executable plans—driving alignment and accountability across stakeholders
- Support implementation of new processes, tools, and program enhancements; ensure adoption and sustained execution
- Elevate operational rigor across all programs (budget tracking, timelines, compliance readiness, reporting)
Agility, Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment with competing priorities and tight timelines
- Identify opportunities to modernize HCP engagement (digital integration, hybrid models, scalable formats)
- Bring forward solutions—not just issues—demonstrating ownership and problem-solving mindset
- Continuously raise the bar on execution quality and business impact
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech event management, speaker bureau operations, or HCP engagement programs
- Demonstrated ability to own and execute programs independently in a complex, cross-functional environment
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical compliance, regulatory, and MLR processes
- Proven project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Experience working closely with field teams (Sales) and translating needs into execution
- High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and event management platforms
The expected base salary range for this position is $137,700 to $178,500. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education and geographical location. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible for short-term and long-term incentives.
